Moore County offers a wide variety of associate degrees and certificate programs through Sandhills Community College. In addition to two-year degrees, SCC also provides access to bachelor and graduate degrees through on-site satellite programs.

Chartered in 1963, SCC officially opened in 1965. It was the first community college in North Carolina to offer a college transfer degree.
SCC offers a wide range of educational opportunities including one-semester certificate, one-year diploma and two-year associate degree programs. More than 69 technical programs lead to an Associate in Applied Science degree, diploma or certificate.
The University Studies Program provides opportunities for students to complete courses that will transfer as baccalaureate credit to four-year colleges and universities. Students can earn Associate in Arts, Associate in Science or Associate in Fine Arts degrees designed to prepare them to continue their education as juniors at a university. Sandhills maintains bi-lateral transfer agreements with selected universities so that students with the Associate in Applied Science degree in business, engineering and nursing can transfer into university-designated baccalaureate degree programs.The college’s Division of Continuing Education also offers classes in areas such as computers, community enrichment, small business, public services and occupational Spanish. Basic skills education courses include Adult High School, English as a Second Language and GED.
