O’Neal Head of School Achievement Awards Presented
Southern Pines – The O’Neal School recognized current 10th, 11th and 12th grade students for their high academic scores at an assembly before their peers on Tuesday, August 23rd. The Head of School Achievement Award is presented to the O’Neal student in each class who compiled the highest academic average for the past school year.
Head of School John Elmore recognized the following students with this award. Recognized for ninth grade achievement was a 3-way tie between sophomore Maia Sophia Kantorowski, daughter of Mr. Michael and Dr. Pamela Kantorowski of Aberdeen; sophomore Augusta Blake Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Alexander Smith of Pinehurst; and sophomore Christine Blair Spencer, daughter of Mr. George Spencer of Lake Bluff, Illinois and Ms. Cassie Galvin of Winnetka, Illinois, and granddaughter to Ms. Elaine Zelch of Pinehurst. Recipient for ninth grade achievement at last year’s recognition, junior Sophia Elizabeth Renner was recognized again for tenth grade achievement. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Renner of Pinehurst. Senior John William (Jack) Hendricks, son of Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Hendricks of Southern Pines, was recognized for achievement in the eleventh grade.
