North Moore High School head football coach Butch Cleaveland has announced his resignation as the Mustangs’ head coach.
In a letter to Athletic Director Bob Collins and Principal Scott Absher, Cleaveland said he was stepping down to spend more time with his family.
Cleaveland served as assistant coach for two years and as head coach for the past three years. During his five years at North Moore High, he also coached JV baseball one year. Cleaveland will remain at the school in his position as English teacher.
According to Collins, the school will begin a search for a new coach immediately and will fill the position as soon as possible.
“We appreciate the hard work and dedication of Coach Cleaveland and wish him and his family well,” said Collins.
