Aberdeen’s Parks and Recreation Department provides recreation programs, cultural events and public parks and facilities for county residents. Throughout the year, the recreation department offers an array of youth programs including dance, basketball, baseball, t-ball, kickball and summer camps. This fall, they have added an afterschool program and Kindermusik classes. The department also hosts adult and senior programs including flag football, chair exercise, art classes, bingo and the Senior Games.

Aberdeen has one main park – Aberdeen Lake Park – and three smaller parks – Colonial Heights, Sharpe and Berkeley Parks. The town opened its newest facility, The Recreation Station, this year next to Aberdeen Lake Park. The new building is not only home to the Aberdeen Parks and Recreation department but also offers several large rooms—perfect for classes and special events. The Recreation Station is open daily and can be reserved for your next birthday party, wedding or other function. In addition to the Recreation Station, Aberdeen Lake Park is home to a brand new train theme playground perfect for children 5-12. A new tree house theme playground can be found at the Colonial Heights Park.
